When ordering an extension cable, will it come with both the motor/driver cable and the encoder/driver cable?
Yes, it will come with both. Only one part number is needed for both cables, which are necessary for proper operation. There are 2 options, however, the standard version and the flexible version.

What is the accuracy of the BX in positioning mode?
+/- 0.72°, which is determined by the encoder’s resolution.

What is the backlash of the GFH-type gearheads used with the BX?
1-2°, which is similar to our GN, GU, & SH gearheads.

Does the BX have dynamic braking capability? Can I stop the motor instantaneously without external component?
Yes. When the BRAKE input is Off, the dynamic brake takes effect, and the motor comes to a quick stop. Otherwise, the motor will decelerate to a stop when using START/STOP signal. In all cases, there is no holding torque unless a magnetic brake is supplied.

Can we scale the OPX1A to display the gearhead speed rather than the motor shaft speed?
Yes. This can be changed to up to 1000 (by increments of 1). The default value is 1. See the manual under Control Parameter, Speed Reduction Ratio.

Can we change speeds on the fly?
Yes, in speed control mode, you can change from 1 data set to another, thus changing the speeds on-the-fly. As long as the CW or CCW switch is ON, the binary code value of M0, M1, and M2 will determine the motor speed. The change in speed will occur at the acceleration (analog or digital) rate set.

If I have more than one BX series do I need an OPX-1A for each system or can I use one to program them all?
You do not need to buy an OPX-1A controller for each system. You can program one unit, disconnect it and program the others.
