What is the difference between lost motion, angle transfer error and repetitive positioning accuracy? |
Lost Motion:
This is the amount of error moving to the same pinion/spur gear teeth combination from different directions. It can also be thought of as the system backlash. Angle Transfer Error: This is the maximum position error of all the pinion/spur gear teeth combinations. This is minimized every 20° of table motion, as the pinion returns to the same tooth at that time. Repetitive Positioning Accuracy: This is the amount of error found when repeatedly moving to the same pinion/spur gear teeth from the same direction.
