Stepping Motors

newAR Series (PS) Geared Type - Stepping Motors
Continuous Duty / Low Heat
Closed Loop / Low Vibration
No Hunting / No Gain Tuning
New Planetary Geared Option
AR DC

In addition to implementing closed loop control, the AR Series achieves a significant improvement in efficiency. Key benefits are lower heat generation, constant operation, up to 40% less power consumption, low vibration and improved angle accuracy. Click here to learn more.

Brushless Motors

BLU Series - Brushless Speed Control System
Panel Mount Controller
Speed Potentiometer Control
Easy to use/connect
Up to 90 Watts
BLU Series

The BLU Series combines a brushless motor which provides a flat speed torque curve, wide speed range, compact size and energy savings with an AC input, panel-installed type driver, enabling speed control via simple wiring and easy operation. Gearhead options are parallel or Hollow Shaft flat geared type. AC Motors & Gearmotors

FPW Series
Watertight & Dust-Resistant
Superb Anti-Corrosion Properties
Geared Model
FE Speed Controller available
FPW

The FPW Series motors are watertight, dust-resistant geared induction motors which conform to the IEC standard IP67. They can be used where they are splashed with water. For speed control, the FE Series controller is available. Click here to learn more.

Linear & Rotary Actuators

EZ LIMO SPV Series - Motorized Linear Slides
Closed Loop / Belt Drive
Easy Dual Axis Combination
High Speed / Long Stroke
Software or Pendant available
SPV Series

The SPV Series, with a belt and pulley mechanism and aluminum frame structure, supports long strokes at high speeds. The SPV Series employs an AlphaStep stepping motor and controller system for tuning-free, closed loop operation. Click here to learn more.

Cooling Fans

Centrifugal Blowers
High Static Pressure
Focused air for spot cooling
AC or DC Voltage Input Types
Thermostats Available
Centrifugal Blower

Centrifugal blowers are optimal for spot cooling and for air flow through a duct, which provides directional air flow by maximizing static pressure making them optimal for cooling equipment which air cannot flow easily tool. Click here to learn more.

Below is this month's "Question of the Month".

Q:
I am interested in sensor less homing using a stepping motor system. I want to move toward a hard stop, stop the motor and change direction. Is there a stepping motor system provided by Oriental Motor that can accomplish this?

A: The AR series features extended functions not normally offered on conventional stepping motors. Using the TLC output on the AR, we can sense a preset torque setting range or perform a torque control function. This range is based on the motor current setting using either the MEXE02 software or OPX-2A data setter. During the application, the user can turn on the T-mode input which will activate the torque control mode or push motion.

The user can manipulate the M0, M1, and M2 inputs to correspond to the motor current setting or torque setting desired. For a sensor less homing routine, we suggest setting the current to a low setting, and moving at a slow speed toward the hard stop. Once the motor reaches the current setting limit, the TCL output will activate to communicate when the hard stop is reached. The controller can then reverse operation direction, make note of the position, and proceed as usual.
