Stepping Motors
| PK Series High Torque Type Motors |
These motors combine high torque in a compact size. Five frame sizes with multiple stack lengths are available from size 8 up to size 23. Each specification provides torque equivalent to a motor of the next larger frame size, supporting high-torque operation even in the high speed range. Click here to learn more. |
Brushless Motors
| BLF Brushless Speed Control System |
The BLF Series combines the attractive features of a brushless motor, such as compact size, high output, flat torque, excellent speed stability and energy-saving design, with exciting new enhancements that include a wider speed range and multi-speed operation. Using the digital operator, you can draw the maximum performance out of the feature-rich BLF Series with ease. Click here to learn more. |
AC Motors & Gearmotors
| Work K Series Torque Motors |
Torque motors are designed to provide high starting torque and sloping characteristics (torque is highest at zero speed and decreases steadily with increasing speed), and operate over a wide speed range. They also provide stable operation, especially in the low speed range or under a locked rotor condition. For easy adjustment of torque, use the TMP-1 controller for winding or push motion or other applications where torque needs to be adjusted.

Linear & Rotary Actuators
| DRL Series Compact Linear Actuators |
The DRL Series is a compact linear actuator designed for high positioning accuracy and high thrust force. The compact and lightweight body houses the linear motion mechanism as well as the rotating components of the stepping motor. The DRL Series helps to achieve a significant reduction in the size of your equipment and system.Click here to learn more. |

Below is this month's "Question of the Month". |
Q: I am looking for a solution for a roll wind up and tension application. I am trying to avoid a complex control system that involves a servo motor torque control with external line speed matching device such as an encoder or photo sensor. I also want to eliminate any mechanical system that monitors line speed such as a dancer arm. Does Oriental Motor offer a simple solution?
A: A torque motor is an excellent product for winding and unwinding type applications. Due to the design of the motor, it reaches full torque at 0 output speed, or locked rotor condition. A torque motor can act as a brake when back driven, or a simple device to provide tension. Depending on the torque setting, the motor will provide tension to the material while taking up slack in the line automatically, essentially matching the line speed.
The TMP-1 power controller can be used to adjust the torque setting by changing the voltage going to the motor.
It can be set via onboard potentiometers, external potentiometers, and external DC voltage. The user can simply set the torque to the required level and the motor will automatically match the line speed due to its natural characteristics. When referring to the torque-speed chart below, you will see that higher voltages will increase the motor torque and lower voltages will decrease the torque.
