Cross flow fans create a wide flow of air using a long cylindrical-shaped impeller. Air is drawn in along the sides of the runner, flows along the circumference of the runner and is blown out laterally, creating a uniform flow of air. Cross flow fans are used for cooling circuit boards installed in equipment, air curtains and other applications.

Q: I am looking for a simple speed control solution for a conveyor application. I am used to working with VFD’s and AC motors but I do not want a lot of parameters to set up. It needs to be simple enough so that any general plant employee can set it up and operate. This conveyor will be running 24/7 so if possible; I would like an energy efficient motor. What does Oriental Motor have to offer?

A: Oriental Motor offers a wide variety of speed control systems. For a simple, plug & play type system, we can look at our BLU series packaged motor and driver systems. Its constant torque and accurate speed regulation characteristics make it ideal for conveyor applications.

The BLU series is extremely simple to setup and operate. Just connect the included motor cable and main power to the driver, adjust the onboard potentiometer to a desired speed, and the motor will rotate once a direction is selected. There are no other initial setup parameters necessary. We also offer various extension cables as accessories for your convenience. Long life gearheads, including our popular space saving, high torque flat hollow-shaft gearheads, are also available.
