September 2011 Featured Products

Stepping Motors

CRK Series with Built-In Controller
Self Correcting Function
High Resolution
Increased Positional Accuracy
Lower Vibration
CRK Self Correcting

The CRK Series with a built-in controller is now available with a Self Correcting Function. Use the encoder from the motor to connect directly into the driver/controller. When Self Correcting Function is enabled and synchronism is lost, the controller makes sure that the motion profile is completed correctly. Total distance remains the same. Click here to learn more.

Brushless Motors

BX Series
Wide Speed Control Range
Flat Torque
Excellent Speed Stability
Speed Control During Vertical Drive
BX Series

The BX Series brushless motor and driver packages offer high performance and high function. The full lineup covers a wide output range from 30 W (1/25 HP) up to 400 W (1/2 HP). When using with a control module, the BX Series provides the torque limiting, position control and other extended functions, in addition to the high performance speed control function offered by the standard model. AC Motors & Gearmotors

V Series
2 Times More Torque
High Strength
Long Life
Quiet Operation
V Series

The V Series offers twice the maximum permissible torque, greater strength, longer life, improved reliability and quieter operation than a conventional AC motor all for the same price. If you want to drive larger loads without changing the motor size, the V Series is the right choice. Click here to learn more.

Linear & Rotary Actuators

PWA II Series
Compact Size and High Thrust Force
Short Cycle Operation
Pressurized Positioning Operation
Push-Motion Operation
PWA II

The PWA II Series, ideal for high thrust force with the use of gears and a ball screw, along with the folded motor configuration, achieves a compact size perfect for applications with push motion and pressurized positioning. The PWA II Series employs an stepping motor and controller system for tuning-free, closed loop operation. Click here to learn more.

Cooling Fans

MDE Series
Long-Life Models
Up to 100,000 hours
DC Input
MDE Series

The MDE Series long life fans have a 100,000-hour life expectancy lowering maintenance costs and reducing downtime. They feature built-in alarms that detect and signal fan rotation abnormalities or stoppages. These fans meet UL, CSA, EN/IEC standards and CE Markings (EMC).

Oriental Motor Can-Do! Ask an Oriental Motor Engineer a Question: We're Here to Help!

Oriental Motor's Engineering Team is just a click away. Send your motion control questions to Oriental Motor's engineers and we'll publish their response on our Motion Control Forum.

Below is this month's "Question of the Month".

Q: I am searching for an AC motor that can be controlled with a variable frequency drive (VFD). This motor will be running a critical adjustment valve inside a machine where it’s difficult to access. Since we would prefer to avoid replacing this motor, it needs to last a long time. It also needs to fit into a small foot print so maximum torque in a small size is important, the equivalent of a NEMA 34 frame size if possible. I require around 300 lb-in of torque at a speed of 20 RPM. More safety factor on torque is desired. My machines will ship overseas, so I would also like to have global safety standards such as UL or CE. Do you have a motor that fits these criteria?

A: For this application, you can consider the V-Series AC Induction motor. Our 90 watt V-Series motor will output 350 lb-in of torque in a 90 mm (3.54”) frame size. IT can output 350 lb-in up to 20 RPM with a 90:1 gear reduction. The V-Series conforms to global safety standards such as UL, CE, CCC safety standards and RoHS compliance.
