AC Motor Speed Controller MSC-1 The MSC-1 AC Speed Controller is easy to use and can connect directly to your PLC and offers enhanced speed control features with feedback from the motor, while providing an alarm output to detect abnormalities. Combined with our High Torque, High Strength, and Quiet AC Speed Control motor, provides exceptional value and performance.
Operates with the setting speed:
• 50 Hz: 90 ~ 1400 r/min
• 60 Hz: 90 ~ 1600 r/min
The operating motor is stopped instantaneously.

Makes the motor movement smoother when starting and stopping. A separate acceleration and deceleration profile is possible.

Operates according to the direction of rotation.

The MSC-1 Speed Controller offers enhanced speed control features in a compact, space-saving design.

2-speed operation is available by switching between the internal speed potentiometer and external speed potentiometer (sold separately).

The MSC-1 speed controller controls the motor's speed by using the tachogenerator signal of the motor.
*To display and monitor the speed of the motor output shaft and the gearhead output shaft, use the SDM496 motor speed indicator (sold separately).
Equipment with Alarm Output Function
If the motor locks due to an overload, etc., or an abnormal heat generation occurs (detects operation of the motor's internal thermal protector), an alarm signal is output and the power supply to the motor is stopped (coasting stop). The motor can be restarted by turning ON the alarm reset input. The alarm trigger can be identified by the blink count of the LED.
Speed Output Function
A 12-pulse signal is output for each rotation in synchronization with the motor operation. From the frequency of the signals, you can calculate the motor speed.

Easy to UseThe MSC-1 is easy to use and connects directly to your PLC. It features 2 speed control methods, an internal potentiometer or two external speed control methods; DC voltage (0 ~ 10 VDC or with external potentiometer (sold separately).
Performance Advantages of the Speed ControllerSpeed Regulation (Load) is Improved
By making the control circuit CPU-controlled, the speed regulation (load) has improved. This allows a more stable operation at the set speed than conventional models.
The vertical line represents the change in speed with respect to the setting speed, when the load torque changes. It is clear that there is little change with respect to the setting speed (less tilt in the vertical line for the MSC-1).
Less Noise is Generated by the Controller
Inverters control the motor speed by using the PWM control method to control the amplitude of the supply voltage to the motor and the frequency. The MSC-1 speed controller controls the motor speed by using the phase control method to control the amplitude of the supply voltage to the motor. With the
phase control method, there is no frequent ON/OFF switching of the supply voltage like the inverter, so there is less noise generated.
The MSC-1 can be used worldwide, with multiple voltages up to Single-Phase 100 ~ 230 VAC.
*Although the MSC-1 speed controller has a Single-Phase 100 ~ 230 VAC specification, make sure the motor is used according to its voltage specifications.
A single unit of MSC-1 can support speed control motors of outputs from 6 W (1/125 HP) up to 90 W (1/8 HP).
The high-strength design of the V Series is made evident through its maximum permissible torque, which has been increased by up to two times* the level of the GN type gearhead and two times the level of the GU type gearhead. Even if the load condition is changed to a level that normally requires a higher amount of gearhead strength, the V Series can accommodate such a change without the need to increase the size of the motor or gearhead.
*Specific torque is dependent on frame size.
The motor's considerable strength has resulted from the use of a rigid case, a proprietary side-panel construction and an optimized gear design. Moreover, the use of a larger diameter bearing serves to extend its useful life.

The V Series utilizes a comprehensive set of noise-reduction technologies: a special tooth-surface machining technology to remove cutting mark of 1 to 2µm from the surface of the motor shaft teeth, an optimized quiet-running design that considers the circular speed of the motor while maintaining its strength and a high-accuracy assembly technology that ensures precision at micro levels.
The motors have a built-in overheat protection device and a protective earth terminal. Offering high reliability, the V Series supports effective equipment design.

The motor and gearhead are pre-assembled with dedicated screws so installation is easy. There's no need to worry about the shaft being scratched.
