Synchronous motors provide rotation at a fixed speed in synchronization with the frequency of the power source, regardless of fluctuation of the load or line voltage. Synchronous speed is 1800 r/min at 60 Hz. It is possible to decrease motor rotation by attaching a gearhead. Synchronous motors are available in frame sizes from 2.36 in. (60 mm) up to 3.54 in. (90 mm) and feature output powers of 4 W (1/190 HP) up to 25 W (1/30 HP). Synchronous motors run on a single-phase 115 VAC power supply.
Fixed Speed Operation
Synchronous motors provide fixed speed in synchronization with the frequency of the power source (1800 r/min at 60 Hz), regardless of fluctuation of the load or line voltage.
