Vibration Characteristics of Stepper Motors

The stepper motor will exhibit much wilder vibrations when the input pulse frequency matches the natural frequency of the motor. This is called resonance and usually occurs around 200Hz. In resonance, the overshooting and undershooting become much greater and the chance of missing steps is much higher. The resonance changes depending on the load inertia, but it is usually around 200Hz.
