Thermostat for Fan AM2-XA1

How to Reduce Running Costs

Issue: Unecessary Costs from Cooling Fans Running Inefficiently

Power consumption costs can be high when you have many fans running continuously.  When the temperature is already low, it's not necessary to keep running the fans to cool electronics.

Challenges:

  • Cooling fan remains running when not necessary
  • Difficult to monitor temperature and turn fans on/off manually
  • Need to reduce fan power consumption costs

Solution: Control the Temperature Inside the Control Cabinet Efficiently

  • Cool Equipment Only When Needed and for As Long As Needed

The thermostats sold by Oriental Motor are switches that run the fan when the set temperature is reached and switch off the fan when the temperature drops. Efficient temperature control is possible when used in combination with a cooling fan.

Connection is Easy!

Simply connect the thermostat in between the fan and the power supply.

There is no need to prepare a separate power supply for the thermostat.

Not Only Saving Energy, Using a Thermostat Also Has the Following Results

  • Can also contribute to extending the lifespan of the fan itself
  • Minimizing the fan’s rotation time leads to less fan noise

Experiments on the Energy Saving Effect of Thermostats Possible Energy Savings of up to Approximately 72%*

Experiment Results

We set the temperature at which the fan turns on to 40 °C and inspected how long the fan is running for in a 90-minute period.

In the experiment, out of the 90 minutes of measurement time, the fan was on for a total of about 25 minutes, resulting in energy savings of about 72 % compared to when the thermostat was not used (fan was left on for 90 minutes).

Low Power Consumption

Lifetime of 60,000 Hours (approx. 6 years)

Wide Voltage Support

We achieved low power consumption through the adoption of a built-in brushless motor.

By using a brushless motor, heat generation can be reduced, and the expected life is 60,000 hours.

The fans can be used with single-phase 100-240 VAC (50/60 Hz) power supply.
The same characteristics can be achieved regardless of the frequency used.
