Variable Speed Motors

For applications where variable speeds are necessary, typically an AC motor with an Inverter or brush motors are used. Brushless PM motors are an advanced option due to their wide speed range, low heat and maintenance-free operation.

Inverters / VFD allow for the speed of a variable speed motor to be controlled.

Oriental Motor also offers variable speed packages combining the motor and a speed controller / driver.

Brushless PM Motors for Inverters

The Brushless PM Motors for Inverters use a motor with a permanent magnet in the rotor. When combined with an inverter, speed control range of 300~4000 r/min is possible. In addition, an efficiency level IE5 is achieved, contributing to reduced electricity costs and CO2 emissions.

Smaller and more lightweight compared to three-phase AC motors with the same output power
Achieves efficiency class IE5, saves energy and reduces electricity costs

Oriental Motor offers a wide range of variable speed three-phase motors that can be paired with third-party inverters such as Fuji Electric, Allen Bradley, Lenze AC Tech, Yaskawa and Mitsubishi. Lead wire, terminal box and conduit box types are available in round shaft or parallel shaft and right-angle shaft gearheads.
