Palletizing is the process of neatly arranging small industrial parts on pallets, and is a key productivity enhancer in parts manufacturing plants. Currently, this work is performed manually, but automation using industrial robots is being considered. However, the excessive size and functionality of typical industrial robots pose challenges in terms of cost and space when introduced. There are also concerns about the costs and lack of skills associated with hiring an SIer due to lack of experience in robot implementation.
To address these issues, the OVR 3-axis cartesian robot, which is compact and easy to handle, can be introduced to efficiently automate the palletizing process and improve productivity.

Small Robots OVR (3-axis cartesian robot) has a movable range of 300 mm x 300 mm x 100 mm and a payload capacity of 2.5 kg, making it the right size for automating the transfer of small loads. The 3 axes of the motorized linear slide are delivered assembled, eliminating the need for assembly man-hours and reducing the time required to start up the equipment. The small number of parts also reduces the time and effort required for creating BOMs, and ordering and receiving those parts.
MRC01-C is a robot controller that controls Small Robots OVR (3-axis Cartesian robot) and features intuitive design even for beginners. Setup is done with MRC Studio, a programming software that can be downloaded free of charge. Operation programs set up with the programming software MRC Studio can easily teach and check using only a PC.
The robot can be easily controlled by using the MRC01-C and the programming software MRC Studio.
The recommended drivers that can be connected to MRC-01 are the DC input type driver AZD-KD or the mini Driver AZD-KR2D.

The robot controller MRC01 is equipped with useful functions for driving the robot using information on the position and angle of the load acquired by the vision sensor.

The above configuration diagram is an example of connection with the CV-X Series manufactured by KEYENCE CORPORATION. Connections with other manufacturers are also available, so contact us for details.
In order to link with a 2D camera, perform pre-calibration using MRC Studio. The settings can be easily configured by simply following the on-screen instructions while looking at the illustrations, reducing the man-hours required for correction. (Up to 2 cameras can be calibrated.)
